ACQUISITION NOTICE №1 — issued from the keeper's desk, One Hand Clapping Records Archive.

The tent is open.

It has, of course, always been here. Before the label had a building it had a yellow tent, and the collection outgrew every room except that one, which somehow never fills. What is new is only this: the flap is now unzipped for the public, and the desk inside has a lamp, a ledger, and hours. (The hours are always. The tent is quietest at 3 AM. The tent is somehow always quietest at 3 AM.)

ACCESSIONED AT OPENING: Volumes I through VI of the collected histories — Les Petites Oreilles, Dr. Thrillho, The Spaceman Spiff Quartet, The Paper Mothers, The Heriot, and The Velvet Jellyfish — each shelved with its catalog number, condition grade, and the keeper's notes in the margin. Two further volumes are accessioned each month. The shelf shows everything the Archive holds; what is not yet unlocked says so, and waits.

CREDENTIALS: Researchers may apply at the desk. A Reader's Card admits you to the general collection. A Research Fellowship opens the special collections, including the complete histories above. Patrons of the Archive are entered in the Register, and the Archive does not forget its Patrons.

THE DESK: Any unlocked volume may be purchased outright — no credentials required. The desk also sells certain books the Archive has declined to collect. The desk offers no opinion on why.

Enter through the flap. Mind the pillows.
